About Project Inclusion

Project Inclusion is an award-winning board governance leadership and development program sponsored by United Way of South Hampton Roads designed to advance diversity and inclusion on the boards of local nonprofits and institutions. Project Inclusion prepares participants to serve on local boards and commissions by sharpening leadership and management skills and growing their professional networks. 

Participants learn from local leaders about:

  • Boardsmanship

  • Fundraising

  • Cultural Sensitivity

  • Effective Communication

  • Fiscal Responsibilities

  • Community Mapping

  • Ethical & Legal Responsibilities

  • Conflict Resolution

  • Research & Technology Tools

  • Parliamentary Procedures

  • Image Building

Apply to Join the Class of 2022

Classes meet virtually on Tuesdays, February 8 - May 3, 2022 from 3 - 5:30 p.m. The cost is $125 (waived for African American Leadership Society members) and applications are due by December 15, 2021.
