Helping Children and Youth Achieve their Potential

United Way of South Hampton Roads is committed to helping our young people succeed. We know that our future depends on the education and encouragement provided to our children today. School readiness is an important attribute of lifetime success, and its foundation centers around proficiency in language and early literacy skills. By developing these critical building blocks, children are more likely to be successful through the academic years and beyond.

Research shows that children with engaged parents are more likely to develop strong literacy skills and a successful academic career. United Way is focusing on this opportunity by providing the resources for parents to become actively engaged in their children’s learning. Our programs promote joy in reading and the value of becoming a life-long learner.

United, we will help our children and youth achieve their potential.
