Through early intervention, pediatric therapy, and Early Head Start
programs, the Children’s Center is taking a team approach to the care of Sarah, a child who recently came to the center facing multiple challenges.
Sarah was diagnosed with intractable generalized
seizures. This type of seizure is uncontrolled and affects both hemispheres of the
brain. The staff at the Children’s Center is working with her to learn basic skills such as
sitting up, rolling over, focusing with her eyes, moving her legs and
arms independently of each other, and making babbling sounds.
