MAC's 20th Anniversary Leadership Awards Gala & Community Workshops

Join us for a monumental day complete with two free community workshops: "Is Your Child A Victim?" (filmed by Cox Communications) and "Childhood Obesity". Both are open to the public, and will benefit parents, educators, counselors and youth. Later in the evening the Leadership Awards Gala will recognize and celebrate a Trilogy of Leadership: MAC 20 years, Project Inclusion 15, and the African American Leadership Society 5 years.

"Is Your Child a Victim?"
Registration: 8:30am
Workshop: 9:00am-10:15am
This workshop will focus on recognizing the signs that often go
undetected and learning what to do when young people are confronted with
horrific experiences of overcoming fear and anxiety as a result of
bullying. Cox Communications will film the workshop, participants may be on TV.

"Fun with Foods - Learning Fun ways To Eat Healthy"
Registration: 8:30am
Workshop: 9:00am-10:15am
This workshop will focus on ages 5-17 and how to combat the escalating and
perilous health risk associated with childhood obesity. Young people
will take part in an informative workshop that deals with identifying
the negative effects of being overweight. Lastly, young people will learn how making small
changes in everyday living will improve self esteem, and create a new
outlook that will lead to a happier and healthier life.
