Announcing New Donation and Volunteer Resource Websites!
United Way of South Hampton Roads (UWSHR) unveils two new online resource websites aimed to connect agency partners with the community.
Gift-Link.org, is a tangible donation driven website that “links” those that have items they’d like to contribute to charitable organizations in South Hampton Roads that need them.
“Gift-Link gives all of us an easy opportunity to share our possessions with charitable agencies that can put them to use in their mission,” said Robert Goodman, Jr. of Kaufman & Canoles, P.C. who brought the site to UWSHR.
“Philanthropy is not just a personal response,” said Goodman. “More importantly it is our collective response to help improve our community and provide opportunity and assistance to others.”
The second, ServeSHR.org matches skills based volunteers with open opportunities for local UWSHR certified agency partners. Positions range from fundraising and after school tutors to Board Members and housekeeping.
Volunteers must register and complete a profile on ServeSHR that lists their availability and interests that will match them with agencies seeking the same. Registrants can also view all open positions and contact the respective agency to learn more.
Users can enjoy the excitement of what it means to LIVE UNITED by helping in one of two ways - by donations or giving their time.
