What is the Young Leaders Society?

The mission of the Young Leaders Society is to promote and facilitate a spirit of philanthropy and civic mindedness among the young leaders of South Hampton Roads. The Young Leaders Society provides a variety of opportunities to meet other individuals with similar community and professional interests. Members of the United Way of South Hampton Roads Young Leaders Society are committed, compassionate, and generous individuals who are dedicated to making a positive impact through their community.

What can the Young Leaders Society offer me?

This unique and dynamic group offers its members many ways to become involved in making a difference in people’s lives in South Hampton Roads. The Young Leaders Society identifies needs within the community for volunteer opportunities that resonate with our group interests. In addition, by affiliating with the Young Leaders Society, members are provided with valuable networking and leadership-related events.

Who can become a member of the Young Leaders Society?

Community based individuals, or couples, under the recommended age of forty-five and committed to contributing $500 or more annually to the United Way of South Hampton Roads are encouraged to join. The process is easy, just check the box on your pledge card or send your name, company and giving level to krudnicki@unitedwayshr.org!

How else will the Young Leaders Society Benefit Me?

• In addition to several fun-filled activities and community events, the Young Leaders Society provides educational opportunities designed to inform members about local issues and to improve their perspective on our community.

• The opportunity to participate in a variety of social, networking and business related events is by invitation only. Membership recognition, if desired, is available in select marketing and promotional materials.

• Through the Young Leaders Society, members will interact with other important local leaders and be a part of addressing the issues that matter most in our community.
